@janehkriss It was yummy, and we ate it very warm, which is usually a no-no. But this was an emergency because we were out of bread and it had taken all day in the very cold kitchen.
Is it not remarkable how we can coax life back to our “dead” starters? I call it “the Lazarus effect”..
@vineyardbaker And it is a hard thing for beginners to grasp. Before you throw a starter away because it is stinky or grey, at least give it a shot at redemption.
What's wrong with warm bread? Its the best!
@ruthraymond I don’t think it tastes as good. I think the flavour is more nuanced. Of course, slabs of good butter can overcome my prejudices.
