What is @dropbox actually doing when it is "indexing," why does it need to do it so often, and why does it hog my computer while it does it?

@DropboxSupport I've fixed permissions and checked for symlinks; thanks. The only app accessing often is nvALT. So, we'll see if things improve. I hope so.

Hi there, when it’s Indexing, in short it’s checking what files are currently in the Dropbox folder and preparing them in case syncing is required. This does require processing power to do so, but if you constantly have high CPU usage, check this out URL: dropbox.com/help/desktop-w…
