Yup. Couldn’t wait, as the old one (2011) is on its last legs. But now I have to decide between downloading apps from scratch and migration assistant, which stalled for a long time so I gave up. Also need a new hub to plug in old peripherals.
@jeremycherfas Apple envy.
@josephaleo I’m having to wait on a new hub to connect old peripherals, and strongly tempted not to bother with Migration Assistant this time.

@jeremycherfas Nice, grats on the new toy! 🖥
@jeremycherfas congratulations! Can't wait for my M1 iMac, too. LOL

@jeremycherfas +1 vote on the non migration. I went that route when going from an Intel mac to the new M1 iMac. Took longer, but nice and tidy when done. 😀👍
@jeremycherfas After two weeks with my new MacBook Pro, I’m still running into little things like customisations and data that I forgot and that need to be transferred or freshly installed. I still have my almost 10 year old MacBook Pro at hand, but you could make a disk image of your old system and mount it when needed.
@jeremycherfas this might be handy for you
@jeremycherfas yes, that would work as well of course! I guess it’s just a good idea to have all your old data around for quite a while because every now and then something pops up that still needs to be transferred.
@jeremycherfas Good luck with the move!
@jeremycherfas new?
