Define "significant". Many, many people are very happily using microformats to interact with one another. Micro.blog is built on microformats. Not enough for you?

While he was worrying like a terrier at the word "content" I believe John Philpin wasn't giving "own" quite the same third-degree. If, as some say, possession is nine-tenths of the law, then all those various places where he stores his stuff, even temporarily, could be said in some sense to own it. I quite like that thing you see inside books, that "The Author asserts their moral rights ..." There's nothing to stop you stealing it (well, aside from the law, in some cases, for people with deep pockets) but at least you know it would be immoral to do so.
Tomorrow is apparently International Podcast Day. Naturally, I am spending today editing a podcast that will go out on Monday.

@jeremycherfas I use slides a lot in my work (more than I'd like to). The amount of experienced trainers who send me 30 slide presentations with every slide chocked full of text... Ugh... :/

@jeremycherfas Or my personal favourite; the presentation I received for "Project X" (actual title) where every slide had a different transition, and every asset zoomed or span or bounced onto the screen. It took me an hour just to delete the animations!

@jeremycherfas I find creating a diagram often helps me more clearly understand and put words to the thing I’m trying to make clear. Still doesn’t mean it necessarily belongs in the final presentation.

@liz Absolutely. And I am the same. But the diagram can be a bit like a lost wax mould for sculpture. You need it to make the final product ( which could be another diagram or words) but it vanishes in the process.

So Flattr is now offering a way to reward podcasters. I dunno; seems to me like too little too late. I used to be a huge fan of Flattr, but its pivot put me off in a big way.

It is good news for people Flattr is recommending a method to reward podcasters.
This indeed a very positive sign to read here never seen such offering being introduced would be interesting to see how people would deal with this particular manner here which is going to be all important factor.
I have heard about flatter, some times. You have also discussed about it.
They’re niche. Not self-sufficient. You can’t build a modern app on microformats alone.
One usecase of microformats I’m familiar with, is hints for web scrapers - I.e. embedding machine-readable data into HTML.
