The business model of the Internet is surveillance contd.
The moral is, in a way, obvious: it’s a confirmation of Bruce Schneier’s original observation that “surveillance is the business model of the Internet”. Being a pedant, I would have said “of the Web”, but since many people can’t distinguish between the two, we’ll leave Bruce’s formulation stand.

This is worrying. I received a message from Fastmail saying I had reached my sending limit for the day. Impossible. I raised a ticket and 8.5 hours later got confirmation my account had been compromised. I'll say this for Fastmail; the recovery process is superb. The worrying part is that I **know** I did not reply to any phishing expedition. So how did it happen? Brute force, maybe. Pwned, maybe.
The one question I really wanted @npr to ask about Chinese tariffs on American nuts: will it make those nuts cheaper for Americans?
